A Roller-Coaster of a Fatty Day

Adventures in Fatcastle…

Oh my dear dear Fatties. I come to you today ashamed. Not of my eating habits, no. That could never happened. But ashamed of how I’ve neglected you over the past several days. It is basically a sin to go without writing for you this long. For this, I am genuinely sorry. But now, to apologize, I will tell you about my day, and boy are you going to get a kick out of this. (Probably not, it’s pretty much the same thing that happens every single day of my life.)

My best friend, Kellan “Wellan” Coffey slumbered at my house last night for we have not had any friendship bonding in forever. This has nothing to do with my Fatty story, I just thought I would tell you about it since I rarely giver her any publicity. Any who, we both attended the Sweet 16 of a friend of ours. My favorite part, naturally, was the dessert time. Cupcakes instead of cake is always an excellent way to go in case anyone was wondering. I delighted myself in merely 3/4 of my own due to the fact of how sweet it was! Delicious action #1 in the last 24 hours was a win, and let me tell you, it didn’t hurt that the icing was UK blue and white :)

This morning, I did my usual activity of taking my mom to work so I could have something to drive, came home, took a nap, took my smelly brother to football, and returned home once more. Soon breakfast was upon me and all I could see in our pantry was a fresh package of Double-Stuf Oreos. Talk about HEAVEN! Forget selecting two or three to dunk in my glass of skim-milk, I brought the entire pack in the living room, only to be laughed at and judged by my dear friend. “HOW COULD SHE!?” was all I could think to myself as I indulged and she cackled. No matter, I proudly limited myself to 5 Oreos and the last 2 Chips A’Hoy cookies in our possession. YUMMY! Chocolate breakfast! Delicious action #2 … definite success.

After being quite the sloth that I am, I noticed lunch time had crept up on me no sooner than my last gulp of Oreo sprinkled milk. I headed out to get Subway for my mother and her co-worker, excited that I too would be getting something healthy! I had my sights set on a 6” Roast Beef & Swiss on Italian Herbs and Cheese bread. My mouth is salivating at this moment just picturing my tasty treat. Disaster struck only minutes after arriving!!!! I stood in the line, sweating my brains out in the sauna of a Subway, only to see that my favorite worker Quenton was not making sandwiches, but working the cash register! The horror!!! Things were made increasingly worse when I saw who was making my sandwiches! A rather frightening lady who I felt was not in the mood to make friends. I promptly stated the two sandwiches I was sent to purchase and nothing more. Out of fear, I left with two sandwiches rather than the three I’d hoped to return with. No Subway for me! Sweaty palms and stare-downs really get to a girl! Delicious action #3 … FAIL.

I then decided to take my taste-buds elsewhere. KFC looked rather empty and so I ventured through the drive-thru to purchase the new chicken bites along with potato wedges of course! My drink purchase did not make me happy, Pepsi ew, I hate Pepsi products. Not to get off track, I received my meal, along with Kellan’s large macaroni order, and headed home to finally consume my meal. CHICKEN BITE VICTORY! They were the juiciest and most flavorful chicken I had ever eaten from KFC. Definitely a perfect choice. It wasn’t the healthy choice I’d initially opted for, but it definitely was the taste I opted for. Delicious action #4 … VICTORY!

As you can see, I had quite a roller-coaster of a Fatty day. Now my Fatty friends, I must go to basketball practice to work all of this off! A girl’s gotta keep her figure in check somehow right? Eh, not really I don’t guess. Let me know what your favorite fast food treat is and if something has ever gone drastically wrong in your adventure to indulge! And definitely go check out those new KFC chicken bites! Delicious!

Fatty Coma

Today as I walked through Wal-Mart with my father, I looked down and noticed that my stomach was pooching a little more than normal. I proceeded to say, “Well heck, there’s so much food in there people probably think I’m pregnant.” My dad then proceeded to offer up a sensible explanation, “That’s what happens you eat out almost every day.” This happened to hold true. Over the course of this last week I have consumed several fast food meals, excessive amounts of Coke (which might I add is delicious), at least 3 ice cream cones from McDonalds, an appetizer meal at Logan’s Roadhouse, and a nice lunch from Olive Garden. I personally have no problem indulging in countless Fatty foods back-to-back for seven days straight. My belly however, feels a little differently. I couldn’t even finish the hamburger and baked potato that was cooked for dinner! I know I generally encourage the enjoyment of ANYTHING unhealthy, but today my fellow Fatty’s, I have hit rock bottom.

Oh, who are we kidding!? That’s impossible! I mean sure, I may have over-stepped by boundaries and slipped into a small Fatty-coma, but everyone has their moments right? I sure hope so! From those crispy potato skins and mozzarella sticks to my all-time favorite cheese-ravioli, I certainly have enjoyed every meal I’ve eaten this week and that’s exactly how a Fatty should feel on a Saturday evening. Perfectly content and satisfied with your week of food. What were your favorite meals you ate this week? Let me know in the comments and maybe I’ll a try a few and even write about them :)

Highland Bakery Gets An A++ !

One of my favorite meals while we were on our adventure in the big city of ATL was at a nice little place called Highland Bakery. As soon as we walked in the door fresh baked goodness just blasted us with the smells of bread, cupcakes, cookies, and pancakes. The aroma of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, melted chocolate, and other buttery righteousness was mouth watering. As we were waiting to be seated at the bakery to take part in a delicious brunch/lunch/afternoon meal (it was 1:30pm after all), I couldn’t help but ogle the trays of mini Oreo, red velvet, vanilla, carrot, and German chocolate mini cupcakes. But the glass filled cases didn’t just stop with cupcakes, oh no. There were cannolis for days, fresh rice krispy treats, mini donuts, and even sweet potato biscuits. However, there was one special little item that I had my eye on. It was a “mini cake” that was decorated with cream frosting with blue and black diamonds. It looked spectacular and I’m sure would have been more so to eat, however it was $15 and no way was I going to pay that much for a little deliciousness that would only be gone in a matter of seconds. Thankfully, our name was called to be seated and I peeled my eyes off of the mini tastiness.

As we were seated my eyes flew directly to the breakfast menu. Even though it was almost two in the afternoon, I could not help it that my taste buds were practically screaming for breakfast.  While I could have settled for something more on the healthy side like some egg whites on a whole wheat bagel, I realized that I probably wouldn’t be taking full advantage of what this local bakery had to offer. So, I went with what had the most variety which was the Highland Breakfast. It had so many different options you could choose from that I knew this was exactly what my stomach called for. While the wait was long, the food was every satisfying. My plate consisted of a huge helping of eggs, potatoes, toast and ham. I slathered my toast with butter and gave several good salt shakes to my eggs and potatoes. I dived in and everything was demolished within 15 minutes of being on my plate. It was the best breakfast meal I had ever eaten!

What are some of your favorite breakfast meals? Doesn’t my meal look great?! The saying goes “it’s good enough to eat,” and you better believe I ate every bit of it!

We’re Back! And We Brought a Few Pounds With Us…

Hey everyone! So sorry for the lack of posts lately, but my Fatty Sister and I were bringing our fatty funness to the big city of ATL! We began our traveling Thursday, the 12th, and returned just yesterday at 9 p.m.! Oh my dear fatties do I have stories for you! However, if I told you all of our fatty adventures in just one blog I would take up at least 4 pages worth! So instead, I have decided to break up our adventures into segments based on the days we were there.

Day #1 – Thursday – The Journey

We left for ATL Thursday, bright and early at 9 a.m. We our snacks right in the floor-board and ready to go for our 5-hour journey and boy could we not wait to break into those bad boys! About an hour into our trip I noticed the big “W” on the box of my favorite salty snack was peeking out from the top of the Dollar General plastic bag. Those bad boys were not going to last long once I started in on them…okay more like the only lasted about another hour before I had devoured every last whale, crumbs included. I just couldn’t resist! Not only did I fall to the persuasive hand of the Whales, but I then began to chow down on some chocolate covered pretzels, generic brand, but equally as satisfying. As I laid back in the passenger seat of Fatty Katy’s little Civic feeling slightly accomplished, but more a victim of gluttony, she suggested that we have lunch. It was 12 o’clock after all! Trust me, this little belly still held room for a little taco bell!

We fed our mouths with fake-Mexican goodness and continued on our way to the great city of Atlanta! Around 2:15 p.m. we arrived at my aunt and uncle’s house with already slightly hungry stomachs. After getting settled in and watching television for a while, we were ready for dinner…at another Mexican restaurant, Tapas style. Now I, as you may or may not know, am a very picky eater. No condiments, no sauces, no toppings (exception, ice cream), no nothing. PLAIN PLAIN PLAIN! This means that there was little for me to eat there besides the chips, no salsa, and plainnn steak bites and fried calamari crispies. Yes, my uncle and aunt had a lot of fun with that, seeing it as unusual. So I ate the overall least amount of food compared to the other three at the table, however…let’s just say that little mixture of plainness was not so agreeable at 2:30 that night.

So overall my first night in ATL was slightly unsuccessful, though I still had fun being with my family. Note to self: NO MORE NOCHE! Stay plain my friends. Oh wait…and fatty!

Sweet Emergency!

Oh hello my darling fatties! I’m so sorry I didn’t write yesterday, but don’t worry, it’s not because I’ve been on some random health-kick because I most certainly have not. I’ve been indulging in my favorite…cookies! Thanks to my darling Nana who provided me with a package of Chunky Chocolate Chip cookies, I have been staying successfully fatty. Today I even managed to eat a chicken sandwich, fries, and a Coke from Wendy’s, and several hours later return to the fastfood scene to order a large Sprite from McDonalds! VICTORY! Only now, as I watch “Kendra”, am I really craving something sweet. If only I had thought of this before 9 o’clock! IGA is now closed! NOOO! In the comments section, please leave me ways of how to compensate for my sweet tooth. It’s an emergency people! Thanks fatties :)

Healthy Kick Goes Down-Hill Quick

Rolling Around Fatington…

Well folks, I haven’t blogged in the past couple of days because I’ve been keeping up with my healthy food regime. I eat a yogurt granola bar for breakfast, the Quaker brand strawberry version is to die for, and pack a sandwich and wheat thins/ triscuits for lunch. This is a very hard thing to accomplish when you work at the mall. The temptations of all my co-workers’ food wafting through my nose in the break room is making me have conniptions. While I eat my ham and cheese sandwich and my whole wheat crackers I can only fantasize on a nice juicy hamburger or some greasy, crunchy tater tots. Being a fatty, aka unhealthy person, is super easy, but when it comes to constantly eating a sandwich and other similar things is a definite struggle.

However, I can’t always stick to my health snacks and food. We all have slip ups, but my so called “slip up” was premeditated, well some of it. As I was laying in bed last night I thought to myself, yummy…I love Chinese food. The fried rice with soy sauce and Bourbon chicken is simply mouthwatering. I decided to change my alarm so I could sleep 5 extra minutes and bite the bullet to eat lunch at the food court on my break. I took a yogurt granola bar to work as usual to eat in the morning for a light breakfast. Then, Andrew, my roommate’s boyfriend and also my co-worker, asked if I wanted to go to the Chinese buffet with them that night. How could I pass a buffet? Seriously! Not only is food court Chinese very appetizing, but imagine multiple trays of yummy juicy, sweet or sour or spicy chicken all for me and my persnickety pallet. But, that left me in a predicament for lunch. Sure, I could have had Subway for lunch, but what fun is that after I was already going to feast at a delicious buffet later that evening? So, what’s the next best option? Sonic. I settled for a nice breakfast burrito filled with crunchy bacon, crisp tator tots, fluffy egg, and creamy spicy cheese. It was the perfect combination of crunchy and warm and gooey all melted into a burrito. My day of unhealthy goodness could not have started out any better.

The Chinese restaurant was everything I could ask for and more! Plates upon plates of every flavor chicken a girl could imagine. General Tso, spicy chicken, peppered stake, honey chicken, onion chicken, and chicken flavors I’ve never even heard of filled my plate along with fried rice and noodles. I was proud of myself when I only limited myself to 2 full plates with chicken and steak heaped upon each one. Of course I had to finish off with a nice bowl of chocolate/vanilla swirled ice cream. It was a great ending to a perfect junk food day. I feasted and feasted upon heavenly unhealthiness and it was all worth it. Maybe if I would have had time for a run in between stuffing my face with grease filled food I wouldn’t feel so bad about it. Haha…just kidding.

My One True Love (Thanks Uncle Brian!)

Adventures In Fatcastle…

I would like to dedicate this blog post to my Uncle Brian! He makes the BEST Oreo dessert I think I’ve ever had. So you can go ahead and assume that this post is about just that…my one true weakness…cookies of course! But what happens when you mix scrumptious Oreo cookies with a bunch of ingredients that I only know as addicting? You get a big round paper plate full of sweet sweet deliciousness. And that’s just what I got tonight.

When I first arrived at my Grandmother’s house for our late 4th of July celebration the first thing that registered was the fact that my Uncle Brian’s car was not in the driveway. “Maybe he’s just on his way,” I thought to myself. Then, as I sprawled out on the couch preparing to take a little cat nap before dinner, I overheard my mother and Aunt Lisa speaking about how he and his family were on vacation! What!? Vacation!? This planned family event where I’m obviously expecting my Oreo dessert and he’s on vacation!? You can only imagine the grumbling sorrows coming from my dessert-deprived tummy. I WAS DEVASTATED! Until dinner time approached…

When we all entered the kitchen to fill our plates with steak, macaroni, and broccoli casserole, my Aunt Lisa began telling us probably the greatest news I’d heard…Uncle Brian sent the dessert via my aunt for all of us to enjoy! AHHHHHH! It was as if the angels in Heaven were singing a glorious tune to the sound of the words coming out of her mouth. I was delighted! I scarfed down my dinner then immediately went to grab a plate STACKED with my one true love. Within seconds of devouring it I felt like I was ready to go into a coma. And sure enough, that is what I am about to do. Thank your marvelous family members who make wonderful desserts and tell me what your one true love & favorite family made dish is. Stay fatty my friends.

Pinterest Treat Success! (Just Ask My Mom)

Adventures In Fatcastle…

Oh yeah! You read that title correctly, I did succeed at something today! And yes … it was healthy! At least I think so anyway. Thanks to that wonderful website sent from heaven that we earthlings like to call “Pinterest”, I got the idea to make a little something with a mere 3 ingredients. Peanut Butter + Chocolate Chips + Crescent Rolls = Healthy Kelsey! Now, you may be asking yourself…”Seriously Fatty Kelsey? There’s no way THAT can be healthy!” Well my friends…you’re probably correct. However, only one of them did fill me up for the morning! Peanut butter is healthy, crescents are semi-healthy, and chocolate chips…well…they were miniatures and chocolate is good for your heart right!? Yep, that’s what I’m telling myself!

So I took the rest of my tasty treats to my parents at work…obviously they loved them! Next time you’re reluctant to try a Pinterest recipe, just go for it and hope for the best! Oh yeah, and start out simple like I did; 3  ingredients, I mean come on! Toooo easy! My next piece of advice though is to not follow that nice job well done with a large fry and large Cokey from McDonalds … it will come back to haunt you my friend! So take that leap of faith and try a healthy…or just make yourself believe it is…Pinterest recipe! They will change your life! Or maybe they won’t but hey…I’m not fortune teller.
